I left behind the day-to-day grind of a busy Technical Support role to pursue something that has been stirring inside of me for many years. Standing aside from conformity, and with an infatuation with quirky psychology and the workings of the human mind, I am now in feverish pursuit of the truth.

What makes us tick? Why do we tick? My insatiable desire to discover all there is to know about the workings of the mind has led to the creation of this masterpiece you are seeing before you. I’m currently undertaking a degree in Philosophy and Psychological Studies, the discoveries and the thoughts this has evoked along the way are shared here with you.

verism [veer-iz-uhm, ver-] –noun the theory that rigid representation of truth and reality is essential to art and literature, and therefore the ugly and vulgar must be included.

mirror [mir-er] -noun something that gives a minutely faithful representation, image, or idea of something else.

The Veristic Mirror aims to communicate to introspective readers my own journey into the human mind; exploring errors in thinking, misdirection, poor judgment, and cognitive illusions that plague mankind. In it, I point out some of the inaccuracies in our thinking that normally go unnoticed, but nevertheless hinder us unnecessarily.
